COURSE OVERVIEW
In times of great trouble, the spirit of life calls forth our deepest resources. The old idea of a genius self already present in each person and trying to awaken may serve us better than heroic notions or simply political solutions.
The original idea of genius refers to the inborn spirit and natural gifts of each person. In that sense, everyone has a genius nature and something essential to give to the world. There may be no greater time for people to awaken to the inner spark of genius than this period of worldwide crisis at so many levels of life.
If we are to find creative ways of living together and healing both culture and nature, the awakening of individual genius may be the deepest, most imaginative way to approach the seemingly impossible tasks that face us all. As the old saying advises, adversity reveals genius, prosperity conceals it. In allowing the inner spark of genius to transform us, some transformation of the world also occurs.
PART 1 - THE NATURE AND ORIGIN OF GENIUS
The inner genius is a force of nature seeking to manifest through the individual soul. It holds the blueprint of our lives and the key to the story trying to unfold from within us. In times of crisis there is an acceleration of calling that puts us on the verge of self-discovery and greater manifestation. Answering the call opens pathways of creative expression and leads to finding one’s “dharma” or natural way of being and serving the world.
The future of the earth is so much in question that each person must be considered a potential subject for a genuine calling to serve in some meaningful way. Not the false sense that “many are called, but few are chosen.” Rather, the greater sense that the genius nature in each person is subject to a true calling and needed at this time.

PART 2 - THE EDUCATION OF GENIUS
While basic education can give a person some knowledge and grounding, the deeper aim of learning involves awakening to the dream and vision of our lives. As Aristotle warned, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”
The inner genius knows the dream trying to come to life through us; it naturally seeks confirmation and blessing from those appearing as teachers. In that sense, genius is the spirit behind education and the source of the light shining forth from the eyes of both teachers and pupils.
For a society to become truly innovative and resilient, it must develop a deeper education of the heart and soul. At this time of worldwide transformation, when learning must be redesigned, old ideas of genius can help return education to its original role of awakening the spirit of learning in people of all ages.
PART 3 - GENIUS TRANSFORMS THE WORLD
The sense that each person has something significant to contribute to life has practical benefits when it comes to healing both culture and nature. Resiliency amidst adversity is a hallmark of genius and an essential capacity for navigating a rapidly changing and confusing world.
Each soul carries within it the “force of truth” and everyone has some talent and vision to offer. What we need now is the courage to follow our genius all the way to where it would lead us. When enough people awaken to the inner meaning and purpose in their lives, a collective shift of understanding can alter the course of history.
